Terms of Service
Last updated: March 4, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using LaneUp ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
LaneUp is a mobile application designed to help teen drivers and their families track supervised driving hours required by state graduated driver licensing (GDL) programs. The App provides GPS tracking, drive logging, day/night detection, supervisor verification, and progress tracking tools.
3. User Accounts
You must create an account to use certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 must have parental consent.
4. Purchases and Payments
LaneUp offers in-app purchases including Pro access ($4.99 one-time), Add Sibling ($1.99 per additional teen), and Test Prep ($2.99). All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms. Purchases are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or the platform's refund policies.
5. Driving Safety Disclaimer
LaneUp is a tracking and logging tool only. The App does not replace professional driving instruction or official DMV requirements. Always follow your state's laws and regulations. Never interact with the App while driving — all App interaction should occur while the vehicle is parked. LaneUp is not responsible for the accuracy of drive logs submitted to any DMV or licensing authority.
6. GPS and Location Data
The App uses GPS location services to track driving routes and calculate day/night hours. Location data is stored locally on your device and may be synced to our servers for backup purposes. You can control location permissions through your device settings.
7. Data Accuracy
While we strive for accuracy, LaneUp does not guarantee the precision of drive time calculations, day/night detection, distance measurements, or safety scores. Users are responsible for verifying drive logs before submission to any authority.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LaneUp and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to lost driving data, inaccurate logs, or failure to meet DMV requirements.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Data stored locally on your device will remain accessible.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of material changes through the App.
